The name six-lined wrasse is solely detailed. These fish have 6 neon orange lines running the length of their higher bodies. The most distinguishing feature of these fish is their intense red eyes. This species is also promoted under the names six-stripe and pyjama wrasse by the aquarium trade. It is assumed this cocoon forms a protecting barrier against nighttime predation, acting to hide its smell from potential predators. Multiples can be kept together without any worry of territorial disputes. Six-lines can make suitable additions to a sea reef tank dependent on the population-at-large. They won't harm corals or other anchored species.
